Hey!

I'm a UNC 2015 grad who graduated in 3 years with a double major in Chem and Exercise and Sport Science. I scored a 31 on the MCAT, graduated with a 3.74 cGPA (I think sGPA was around 3.65) and applied last year to 15 schools (*side note: 12 PS 11 VR 8 BS*). I got two interviews: at Robert Wood Johnson (I'm a New Jersey resident) and at Virginia Tech Carilion and am still on the wait list at both. I was accepted to the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine (DO School). My heart was really set on MD. So, my question is...do I reapply - is it worth it, do I have a shot?

Activities:
Hospital Volunteer 2 yrs
Research Assistant 1.5 yrs
Shadowing- ER and Newborn Nursey, 2 summers
Standardized Patient 1 yr
Varsity Athletics (All-American)
on-campus fundraising group for NC Children's Hospital 3 yrs
Student-Athlete Leadership Development, 3 yrs

Awards:
EC Markham Summer Research Fellowship
Tanya R. Ellison Chemistry Scholarship
Carolina Research Scholar
Buckley Public Service Scholar

NYIT is a good school and I can see no reason to delay your career in medicine another year. You could still come off the wait list before the end of June.
