Hotel recommendations near UDM?

Does anyone have any recommendations on hotels near UDM? Its my first time going there, any input would be highly appreciated.

When I scheduled my interview there, I was told they would be sending a packet with recommendation on where to stay and how to travel. I haven't received it yet though.

Hostel Detroit was cheap and pretty close to school. I wouldn't say the neighborhood is safe but you can just ride a cab to school.
