I'd like to push these scores to >2000.

    06/2009, SAT Test

    440 Reading
    490 Math
    580 Writing

These are the scores I received without study, they total 1510/2400 and 930/1600. Quite frankly, they're embarrassing. However, I have most of the summer left and am taking the fall off to study for this test.

    Score Report: Critical Reading:

    32 Correct
    35 Incorrect
    0 Omitted
    Total: 67

    Score Report: Mathematics:

    14 Incorrect
    13 Omitted
    Total: 54

    Score Report: Writing

    Total: 49

My weak area is math, I've never been very good at it. As far as the CR section goes, the vocabulary really tripped me up a lot. Lastly, writing: This section I should be able to tackle on my own, so I'm not immensely worried.

Work through 1 or 2 SAT books. They should help immensely.

TPR and Kaplan have good materials. Barron's is okay too, although their material is a bit more dense. Get in the habit of reading a lot, which will help not only for the SAT but in college and beyond.

Memorizing vocabulary is an equally fruitful endeavor.

For math, there is nothing like practice. Studying for the SAT and seeing what works and does not work for you is a learning experience of its own.

In my opinion practice tests are the key. Buy the books and look at the lessons, however really focus your attention on understanding what you miss on the practice tests. Also, it is important to relax. I raised my M and R score from a 1360 to a 1500 and didn't really study much more(although I did study using the above method). I simply relaxed.
