How do I differentiate between Extracurricular and Community service

can someone provide some examples of which goes into which, im having a hard time differentiating.

for example, say I did some charity work, that would obviously be community service but would it not also be extra-curricular since it was a club?

lol I didn't know what a beagle was and had to Google it though I could tell it would probably be a type of a dog.

so should I just say its 'community service' since that is the more specific of the two? then my extra-curricular looks 'empty'
