how do you build a ridge for wax ups?

i can't build a ridge up in hot wax... any ideas? then to put a cusp tip on it for example the canine or premolar

Build up cones where your cusp tips will be, then flow wax in between those cones to build the ridge. Alternatively, you could just add wax and carve away.
