How easy or difficult is it to transfer from a rural location to closer to the city within a chain?

If you work for a chain pharmacy ( such as CVS or WAG), how easy is it to transfer out after a year to a more urban location? The recruiters say it is very easy to put in a request for a transfer, but how easy is it to actually succeed at transferring from a location with a pharmacist shortage to an area with a pharmacist surplus once you are already in their system?

Would the company try to keep you working in an undesirable rural location if you don't have a good enough reason to transfer to the city, while still working for the same chain?

If they don't have a replacement for you, they don't transfer you out.

Given the saturation at this point, there will be a new grad desperate enough with 200k loan to apply for your job.

Can you blame me? There are 6 offers from 3 retail chains I need to sift through before this Friday... I am having a hard time with it.
