Actually I believe NYCOM has surgery residencies available thru NYCOMEC.

I thought DO's could only be an assistant to physician’s assistances.

Buckeye, you are one funny guy. Quit sandbagging the O.P. Surgery res is competitive and if you decide to go ortho or plastics it gets only that much more so - probably about an 8.7401239854 out of 10. Check out Iserson's book about getting into the res that you want.

General surgery is becoming increasingly competitive.

I suggest you look into the surgery residency forum.

Look at the match stats for your school. They usually give a percentage of who matches in what.
