How important is research experience?

I know research experience is almost mandatory for pre-med students, but how important is it when applying to dental school? Also, how much of an advantage does it get you if you show you are very invested in research during your undergrad. Thanks for the responses in advance

Only good for certain schools and if you want to do research. Also, it depends on who you work with and what you did. To get into a great lab that is doing amazing research is kind of like winning a scratch off and most schools understand that. Besides, funding has gone down so not everyone will get the opportunity to get into a lab.
 
IMO, has no weight.

Not required but depending on the type of research it can help immensely.
