It has to be completed before you matriculate. It's not a recommended course, it's required.

You should be contacting the dental school directly. Do you really want to rely on the advice of those on SDN which could theoretically put your matriculation at risk?

I highly doubt it. You'd prob have to take it at a cc or something. Contact UW for sure

I was told by Kathy Craig an online course from BYU would suffice, but you should verify that the exact course you're interested in will satisfy the requirement.
