This question is mostly directed to those who know about the condition of the current job market in Canada, or anyone who are in a similar situation.

How is the saturation of general dentists in Canada (specifically Vancouver and Toronto)?
Is it difficult to find a well-paying job and work as an associate?
I heard there is a higher influx of overseas dentists since the canadian board don't require foreign-trained dentists to do a 2-year international program and instead do the equivalency process by taking assessments and exams.

Anyone with experience can give me some insight for a dentist like me who maybe interested in working there?

Also, will having a strong orthodontic background have an advantage over other general dentists?
Or do most patients prefer seeing specialists in Canada?

Thanks :)

I heard that passing rate is around 9%, which is pretty low. I used to be an assistant in Vancouver, it is very suturated
People in Vancouver see their dentist regularly, usually see a general dentist and go the specialist when recommended. Insurance reimbursement is much better, so people are more inclined to look after their teeth
