Hey yall,

I've noticed that a couple of my secondaries want me to explain any grades below a B-. I only have 3 classes with a B-: one was because I was an idiot freshman, and forgot to turn in a major assignment on time. The other two were ochem and biochem. There isn't really any good reasons for those two, the classes were hard and I wasn't really studying in the most productive way. How do I address this in the secondary. Can anybody help me spin these in ways that won't look too bad?

A B- isn't below a B-.

Tell them how you used to be immature with studying but (hopefully) you have changed now and are more prepared for medical school. Hopefully this is the truth!

Start from the raw truth, then polish just a bit. 'Idiot freshman' speaks for itself, and you can say you learned to take things seriously. For the genuinely difficult classes, say that, and also that they helped you learn to study more effectively.
