How to secure a RA/TA

I am not on campus yet. How might I secure a RA,or TA?
And, for when I am on campus as well.

An instructor sent me an email with the opening for my TA position. Let people know you're looking for one and maybe provide a copy of your résumé/CV. Obviously, some may not like that, but usually you can figure out who is willing to help.
