If I take the August mcat do i apply now?????

I have a GPA of 3.57, and I just received my mcat scores. I got a 498 (I know it's terrible). I did decent on all the sections except the chemisty (20th percentile). I'm studying as of now hardcore for the August 20 MCAT. Do I apply now or will my low MCAT score hurt me even if I improve on the August MCAT and send it in later? My extracurriculars are the standard shadowing and volunteering, but I'm working on other activities that will help me stand out

What happened in that section? Was it something specific? I bombed one because of my stupid contact lenses. If it's something like that, then definitely. If you are weak in that section it will be hard to get that to at least the 50th percentile in just a month. There is just SO much that one section covers!
