Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY is looking for a PGY II resident with a concentration in Implantology leading to a PGY III year Implantology Fellow. sounds interesting.

Sounds like you might as well grow a pair and just do a OMFS residency, especially since its not legal to market yourself as an inplant specialist when you're done because its not a recognized speciality... so you'll be the new guy on the block with the experience but no ability to really market yourself....maybe its worth it to just to the extra time.... IMO

Hey Super Finger, it is called an IMplant not an INplant just to correct the guy who thinks he is better then eveyone else, when he is just a dental student. I happen to know people who went to this program and are doing extremely well. Futhermore it is totally legal according to the court system, as brought by lawsuits from the AAID, to market yourself as an IMplant specialist so check your info before speaking. These dentist that I know that graduated from this program are trained totally different then an OMFS intern (that is just a scut monkey for OMFS). In the implant fellowship you work up patients for comprehensive care and not only treament plan for implants but treatment plan for the patient. You treat the entire patient , which means implants are involved in every case but you do whatever else is necessary for the patient (Endo, C&B, Restorative, and all implant realted surgeries). So when you finish the fellowship you will have minimum referrals out of your office and you can keep everything in house. You dont get that in an OMFS internship. So next time you post superfinger,THINK!

 Way to try to rip someone a new one for a simple typo.

Now, it might be legal but I think it is sketchy for ANY dentist (GP, OMS, Perio, etc) to advertise themself as an "implant specialist" because it is not a recognized ADA specialty. Simple as that.

Hup

way to rip someone! Did you read splitfingers post about "growing a pair". That is a real professional way of talking and not ripping on a program right?
