If you didn't do too hot in the pre-reqs (seeing as they are courses taken in your 1st year of college), would it be good to take upper division courses to compensate?

i.e. say you got a C in bio 1 but you got an A in population genetics (like a 4th year course).

It will help compensate in your overall GPA (as long as the units were the same), but if you get a C-, you need to take it over again. Many schools do not accept C-s for their pre-reqs. If you got a regular C, I recommend taking it again anyways (at JC) and get an A this time. :p
