Hello,

We just converted to CVS from Target and I am getting to learn rxconnect more. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. However, there are some of the functionalities that I haven't used much and am curious as to the scenarios where they can be used.

I used I for inactivating rx when a patient isn't taking a rx anymore. When else would you inactivate a rx?

Only when patient has passed away so they don't receive auto calls for refills.

You can inactive rx for pcq adherence calls when patient says they no longer take rx so your percent goes up.

You can't refill rx after inactivation.

Anytime you are 100% sure the patient isn't going to want it again.

1) pt deceased
2) was a one time med with refills (i.e. Flonase) that they are getting calls on and don't want
3) not taking anymore and won't be restarting
4) dr discontinues

Also, any errors that are made. You aren't supposed to delete it, just inactive it.

I usually generate off the incorrect script to make the correction. It serves two purposes...inactivates the incorrect script and maintains a link between the two leaving a trail of what was done.
