I have 2 letters uploaded and assigned to programs and my third letter (department chair) will not be in until the end of the week. I do have the option of assigning a different letter to be the third letter and therefore 'complete' my application, but 1. I'm not sure it's super strong and 2. I don't know if it's okay to end up with 4 letters when most programs ask for 3.
Is it better to upload the different letter to complete the application or is it okay to wait for the department chair letter? I just hear that October 1st is "the deadline" for all applications to be complete..
