I'm hiring a IC for fill-in work. I understand the difference between an IC/employee and the IRS views.

However, my IC wants me to pay his "professional corporation" (LLC/PA/PC or whatnot) for the services provided. I'm assuming his LLC/PA/PC will then pay him a salary. Is this still an independent contractor/1099?

Just curious if any other OD has encountered this.

Just curious, but due to the ubiquitous nature of ICs and optometry, is it just that no one cares about the possibility of audit? I guess no one worries cause everyone is doing it. Is this assumption correct?
