Does anyone know how long it takes to process once the application has been submitted?

If you have all your paperwork, it can be really quick. I got mine in 6 weeks, (although for full disclosure I already had a CA license.) I would make sure you have everything when you submit, as it's much easier/quicker to do that than send supplemental info later IMHO. Good luck.
