Hey guys, Hope all is well.
Im super interested in attending IAUPR school of Optometry. Is it literally my dream to get accepted.
Im just very clueless as what the steps are.
When do I apply? Do I need a bachelors degree before hand? Im currently working on getting my bachelors but I don't want to continue if it isn't needed. I am currently a Certified ophthalmic technician.
Every when does IAUPR accept incoming students? is it every semester or every year? when is a good time to take the OAT?
I know I'm full of questions but I honestly just need some help, advice, and guidance.
Thank you so much to anyone answering and helping me out. its greatly appreciated!!! :)

I'm glad you have a clear goal set ahead of you. I was a certified ophthalmic assistant and IAUPR was also my first choice.

A bachelor's is not required, but it is recommended. The school accepts about 60 students every academic year. Classes start in August.

Take a look at these pages on the school's website for more information:

This deals more with the admission process, but I would also take a look on youtube at the video titled 'Optometry Admissions Panel (2014)'. It gives you a lot of tips on areas that admissions panels look at; from your GPA and OAT scores, to being as insightful and reflective on admission essays as possible. A big point to hit is experience in the field and get as many hours shadowing doctors as possible. Try to establish professional relationships with as many doctors as possible and even try to shadow opthamologists when possible. You don't just want a high gpa/oat score, or a lot of hours shadowing, but you also want to be able to be reflective on the amassed knowledge you have gained and grow from it.

When you say classes start in August, does it mean they accept students once a year and not every semester?
Im currently working on the required core courses they have listed on the website. its going to take me about a year to finish them all. When do you think is a good time to apply?
sorry Im just honestly clueless as what to do.
