[Internal Medicine] International student(M3) accepting Sub-Internships?

Hi,

I know a lot of posts have asked the same question, but things change every year.
I and my classmates are having a hard time finding Sub-I positions in Internal Medicine.
Even if they say they allow electives, those that allow Sub-I positions are pretty rare.

Also, any tips on invoking the "phone-call" approach to try to wiggle into Sub-I positions that aren't allowed on paper is greatly appreciated. I want to do it the most sensitive and approving way possible, but my "social GPS" isn't that adept at doing things like this.

Can anyone share any leads/ideas?

You could try to sign up for an "ICU Elective". In general, working in the ICU allows for a Sub-I type experience.
