Hi all,

For the famous "Why medicine?" and "Why do you want to be a doctor?" interview questions, is it ok to summarize what I have written in my personal statement?

Wouldn't repeat it verbatim but its ok if you convey the same points in both answers. Maybe elaborate on some of those points and talk about stuff you couldn't fit into the PS.

99445 -- As someone who has interviewed many applicants like yourself, I can tell you that we go through the personal statement pretty quickly, so it won't be all that redundant. Plus, your reasons for pursuing medicine likely have not changed, so it is good to be consistent. I would also add that you'll likely get follow-up questions to your explanation, so be prepared for that! I wrote an article on my blog about how to prepare for interviews. You can check it out here. www.road2md.com/#blog

Thank you! Very helpful!
