Does the timing of when you schedule your interview effect how you will be ranked for IM programs?

Fair enough, the question stands. Does anyone know?

yes... no... maybe...

pro tip- if you care about the place, make it interview 5-6. that way, you're seasoned but not burnt out yet. believe me, both matters.

FWIW I matched my #2 at a (top 10) place that I didn't stick around for the post-interview gathering, didn't attend the pre-interview dinner, didn't get first wave invites, didn't interview until late January, and didn't get a response to my "thank you" note.

But n=1. I do agree with making an interview you care about right in the middle, more so that you don't burn out, than trying to gain any (in)tangible benefits on ranking.
