Why is it harder to get into MD schools than it is for DO schools? I've heard them be called "separate but equal" programs. What's the deal with this?
Am I missing something? Why is this funny? It is a legitimate question. Bury me with my ignorance, but explain my folly to me please.

Without DO you just have ctor. If you wanna be a Ctor, which is basically a programmer*, then go ahead and get the MD.

There is NO difference!! My primary care doctor is a DO, and he's the best out of the five I had in the last 7 years (all others where MD's). I'm also kind of dating this doctor I met at the hospital where I'm volunteering, he's a DO, and he said it did not affect him whatsoever (I know he makes great money, if that's what you care about). The nurse who supervises me says she can't tell the difference between the two unless someone specifically tells her who earned what degree!!!
oh no no no no
you did NOT just take the bait...
the answer to the op's question is so obvious.
