Is this normal?

I currently am in progress almost half way through the course and have in physics 2, a 98% in lecture and a 61% in lab and the lecture is a 3 credit course and 1 credit for lab. They said if that was still the case at the end of the course they would combine both. What would the grade be? Ahh! I was doing so good in my prereq but this lab! Thank you!
