I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET YOU, SDN.

I opened my home to a dude I met here on SDN.
I'll keep his name anonymous, but it's gonna be hard to keep him anonymous, since he's such a, well,
BEAST.
It's hard to be anonymous when you're
6'6" 300 lbs and you played....no sorry....you STARTED AS A COLLEGIATE FOOTBALL PLAYER for
Petrino.....
Let me reflect.

"Danny", as I'll fictitiously refer to him, read alotta stuff I wrote and alotta stuff others wrote here on SDN.

Emails lead to telephone calls lead to personal interactions lead to trust.

So I opened my home to "Danny" who had interviews at residency programs here in New Orleans.

Lemme tell you something, SDN Attendings....

OPEN YOUR HOMES TO VISITING ANESTHESIA APPLICANTS.

"Danny" was this Bigger Than Life figure who had played collegiate football. My two young sons, who are football geniuses, were captivated.

I'm glad I opened my home to him!

I'm starting this thread to encourage attendings out there to

DO THE SAME.

Open your homes to visiting anesthesia applicants so they have a place to stay.

You'll benefit.

JPP,

That's pretty cool of you to do that.

No one has asked me if they could stay at my home. I suppose my posts are not near as captivating as yours.

Plus, who wants to stay over in Coronado, CA.

Hey Noy,

It was great to touch base with you the other night!
And yeah, I HAD TO FEED THE DUDE AND MAN CAN HE EAT!!!!!! (lol)

I was at work when "Danny" finished his interview for the day, around 1PM....he called me when he was done. Here is the actual conversation:

Danny: "Hey man."
Jet: "What's up Dude?"
Danny: "I'm done.....hey, uhhhhhh.....you got any food at your place?"

LOLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

Our first words after his interview were about

FOOD, AND WHERE HE COULD GET SOME!!!!

I was running around the OR as this is our busy season. I told him to hold on a sec as I made my way to the Doctor's Lounge...we had ordered sushi that day from one of our favorite local places...I surveyed the leftovers and thankfully there was a sizable amount of great sushi rolls left over...

Jet: "Yeah man, we've got plenty! C'mon over to our facility!"

Danny made his way to our hospital....our Physician Concierge called him before his arrival to tell him where to go; she met him upon arrival and lead him to THE FOOD, where he wiped out the leftovers LOL

DUDE CAN EAT!!!!!!

I also took him to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse with my older son who is 6'1", 235 lbs.....man I'm glad I've got a good job, trying to keep these Gargantuans fed!!!!

It was a great stay and it was a great experience spending time with this young, accomplished dude.

Btw it's great to see this site doing well.

Thanks to all my old friends for the many kind words sent to my inbox.

Maybe we can create some

CLINICAL CASE FERVOR

again.

What's your go to for sushi in the city? Haven't been blown away by anywhere and have tried a few. Megumi across the lake has satisfied though.

And yes please on the cases :D

Try a
Seared Salmon Roll from
KANNO
in
FAT CITY, Bruh.

Close to Drago's.

Additionally, consider

USHI SUSHI.

We order frequently from both venues.

Mikimoto all day and twice on Sunday! I get delivery from there twice a week at least.

I've tried most places, but not kanno. That's next on my list.
