Yes, I started it, but I am also a doc and want to have something that is easy to use and is on our side. Most other job boards are owned by recruiters or big companies. I want this site to be the Craigslist of job boards. It is mostly free. As a job seeker, you can create a profile, upload pictures, video, or audio and also state what your minimum acceptable salary will be. You can also indicate that whatever job you take, they have to pay the tail. Most importantly, you can also state that you want buy-in details at the interview, or before you even go. I know too many other docs who have been told "We'll discuss the buy-in after you have been here for a year." That generally ends up as a financial disaster for the new guy.
Also, check out the "physicians stories." I have done 23 interviews with physicans (4 general surgeons) about their job searches and how life has been after residency. There are also some good socioeconomic issues to read about salaries, billing, reimbursement, and how many RVUs physicians bills a year.
There are alot of pessimistic posts on here about how medicine sucks and you can't make any money. In this day and age, you have to demand what you feel you are worth. The money is out there, they are just not giving it to us anymore like they used to back in the day. There are lots of good ways to get extra cash, mostly from hospitals via call stipends and ER stipends. As the physician shortage worsens, I think our day is right around the corner. The pendulum is going to swing back in physicians' favor.
