hi all,
there is a prof i want to work with next year who is going on sabbatical this year so i'm writing her an email now to see if she'll still be taking students. this is a random question, but what is a good subject line for these sort of emails?
thanks.

also, is it better to send it from my stanford account (work) or my gmail account (personal).
thanks.

I'd go with the work email, and maybe put the subject line as "Fall 2008" if that's when you're inquiring about.

Fall 2008 sounds good. Thinking back, I think my subject was "Questions about your research" because for each professor I did read a few articles so I could ask a few questions and then ask if they were accepting. Who knows what professors thought of that method, I am sure it was apparent that I really just wanted to know about the last question, but just go with what sounds best to you and what you would want to get if you were a professor.

Also, I would go with the work email if that is permissible.

thanks for the quick responses. i just sent it off!

yay she will be taking people!
