Hello all,

Im currently an M3 at a mid-tier medical school interested in pursuing radiation oncology.

My stats are
Years 1-2: Pass (Pass fail program)
Step 1: 232
Clinical Grades: Pass (Psych) High Pass (Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics) Other grades pending
Research: One 2nd author Rad Onc paper, one Academic poster presentation + paper (will be completed before applying)

I know my step score is below average (also well below what I've seen posted on here) and clinical grades aren't honors. Also my research is relatively limited. I don't have a home program but will be able to rotate with a local radiation oncology group in 4th year as well as doing away rotations. I'm in the process of planning 4th year right now and would be grateful for some feedback as to whether I would make a good applicant or if going into Rad Onc is a dream/would require post-grad work before applying.

Thank you very much.

I think you have a good chance, just make sure you do as many aways as you can and work hard during your radonc rotation.
