Apparently California passed a new bill that require pharmacists to register with the CURES program by 2016. A coworker of mine asked me if we needed to even if we don't handle controls.
"This bill would require, by January 1, 2016, or upon receipt of a federal Drug Enforcement Administration registration, whichever occurs later... " Since we aren't registered with the DEA, are we exempt?
It also states: "A pharmacist shall, before January 1, 2016, or upon licensure, whichever occurs later, submit an application developed by the Department of Justice to obtain approval to access information online..."
