Hello all,

I am aware of the little bit of data put out by the SF match regarding the ophtho match. Are there anymore comprehensive analyses- like the "Charting the Outcomes"?

As a low range applicant, I'd like to have a full appreciation of the hill I need to climb

Thanks for the article! I have read the article before. It just seems like things are getting more and more competitive. I am curious how much more competitive it is now comparatively

Well this data is only 3 years old but I can see your concern. Bottomline though my friend is that ophtho is a perennially competitive specialty.

Huh, there's a discrepancy between the 2011 Step 1 scores reported on the SFMatch website and the Ophthalmology study. You would think these numbers would be straight-forward. I wonder if it's a mean/median issue or if someone simply doesn't know how to crunch numbers.

SFmatch.com: 237 matched, 214 unmatched
Ophthalmology study: 239 matched, 223 unmatched
