So my plans just changed from taking the MCAT in 2014 to 2015. How different will the tests be with the new sections? Will schools change their pre-requisites to reflect the new material on the test? Will it be a totally new game applying with these changes?

I don't know that anyone can answer this with any certainty...the quick answer is yes, things will change. You can start to look at school websites now to see if they have changed requirements for students entering in 2016 or some year. If the school hasn't said anything yet, it's unlikely that you will be asked to fulfill different requirements - schools have to be reasonable with the fact that you can't change your pre-med curriculum junior/senior year.

IUSM has already changed requirements for the class matriculating fall of 2015, so they aren't even waiting for the new MCAT. If you read the stuff out on the MCAT there are a lot of changes. Even current sections are changing to de-emphasize biochemistry over organic chemistry, focus physics to more on living systems as well as the psych and soc material.

We will all know more next year when they release sample tests, but many people that took the MCAT this year thought the test sections for the new test were difficult. At least we will all be in the same boat in the beginning.
