There will always be details or definitions that won't be memorized come test day... What is the best way to mitigate this? Focusing on all of the major concepts / practicing on passages / learning to extract information from passages quickly?

Any thoughts are appreciated :)

I believe the best way to deal with small details on the MCAT is to do a ton of practice exams or problems. There is no better way to reinforce a concept (even a small one) than to be tested on it. There are many studies on effective learning that suggest this to be true. Most problems test the little stuff either directly or indirectly.
