I am thinking about DO programs as well, but not entirely sure how my stats fit in.

I am still researching about stats and schools, but was wondering if anybody had input where I should apply to. Given my research background and experience, are MD/PhD programs within reach or should I skip over those?

Also, does it make a difference that I went to school outside of CA?

Any input would be appreciated! Many thanks in advance

Delete WA. You should be able to get some interviews with this list, but you could easily cut several out without decreasing your odds. Your state of residence matters more than your college but attendance at a private school tends to increase odds at other private schools.

Thanks for the advice gyngyn! Really appreciate your help. That said, I did attend a private school. Any schools I should add or swap out with this in mind?

If you definitely don't want to take a year off I would add a handful of DO schools. I think you will get into MD more likely than not if you apply early.

Thanks for the tip. I am trying to get my primary app submitted in a few days. Still looking into DO schools and their requirements, but unfortunately, not having an MD letter of rec is problematic for me at Touro and Western U in California.
