Hi,
I was wondering: How important is volunteering, in particular volunteering at the hospital, in getting into medical school? Where are some places that current medical school students have volunteered in their undergraduate studies? Also, what did current medical school students do during their summers in undergrad?

Thanks!

I'm just starting out as well but from my understanding adcoms really want to see that you clearly interested in medicine as well as being involved in humanitarian efforts and volunteer work. I'm currently involved with a volunteer rescue squad as an EMT and absolutely love it. You get more interactions with patients than if you volunteered at the hospital and if you live in a more rural area you may be the only one administering patient care.
