Ok so this may be a dumb question but:

what is the difference b/w lancet shaped and bean shaped?

It says lancet is S. pneumo and bean is N. meningitides, though both are cocci

confused!

Don't fret over lancets and beans. One is gram positive and one is gram negative. Both are diplococci.
