The saying goes: "Interviews three, a doctor you will be" (and because it rhymes it must be true!! haha)

Also congrats on the 5/11! That's awesome and puts you in a very great position if you don't manage to mess up interviewing.

I got one acceptance during the regular cycle and 5 wait lists. I ended up getting off 3 of them. Please be patient and prepare for next year, either as an applicant for med student

It is perfectly normal to only apply to TX schools if you are a resident of TX.
Now what if your address is in Texas but you are not a resident for medical school purpose? Are you SOL for mid-tier/"safety" schools everywhere?

If TX is listed as your state of residence we will presume that you are entitled to all rights and privileges of a TX resident.

Well I only have 2... time to start working on plan B...

There was a long thread on the variations of Interview 3

Below is from 2015 AAMC Matriculating Student Survey which showed 40% of matriculants attended 2 or less interviews

I asked the same thing last time I saw those stats....apparently it's BS/MD applicants...was feeling jealous that they slid in with no interviews but that makes more sense

A natural outcrop of that data is if you attend more than two interviews you are likely to be accepted at more than two!

Is there anyway to disabuse adcoms of that? :(

Does this qualify as "disadvantaged"....?!

I go into each one thinking that this is my chance to show who I am as a person to the admissions committee. I know plenty of people who got in with only one interview, maybe 2 tops. You want to go in with the mindset that you'll do your very best, regardless of how many other invites you have. If I get multiple interviews then awesome but right now my goal is to do my best for my upcoming one in a month. Then we'll see how things unfold!
