National PT Examination

Is the written NPTE the only component that one is required to pass to independently practice physical therapy in the USA?

Or is there also a clinical exam that must be passed?




Just would like some clarification because in Canada, there are 2 exams: a written + a clinical. And both need to be passed to practice independently.

From what I've researched, in the USA, there is just the 1 written NPTE?

correct, 1 test

just the written. No clinical portion as that is assumed by passing clinical internships in school.
