I'm an MS2 getting ready to pick my track schedule/rotation sites. Anyone know if its a good call to rotate in your field of interest at a VA, if we plan on doing residency with the Navy? For example, the VA where I am is rumored to hand out high grades for surgery but not necessarily give a wide range of experience. Basically I'm wondering if theres any advantage to getting a rec letter from a VA surgeon if applying to a Navy surgery residency.
Thanks!

No one in the Navy will care about your VA letter any more than any other letter, unless there is something exceptional about the author (e.g. big name in the field, former well-known Naval surgeon, PD's father-in-law, etc.).
