I've come across a practice question mentioning PMN-predominance in chronic gastritis. At first I thought this may have been wrong, then I went and did some searching.

Although neutrophils indicate acute inflammation in most organs, in the stomach, they merely suggest active inflammation, but not necessarily acute.

Particularly note the point regarding mononuclears alone indicating an inactive process.

Thanks Phloston, I've noticed your posts are actually very useful to make a little more understandable some of the most overlooked aspects of boards studying.
