I've noticed that the AOA Opportunities page has two additional EM programs in NY that were updated within the last couple of weeks. NYCOMEC/Coney Island Hospital and LECOMT/Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Neither of these programs are on ERAS. Does anyone have any additional information on these two programs? Thanks!

Coney Island hospital is in an area that should see decent volume with a good variety of pathology. The next closest hospital is Lutheran (also in Brooklyn) which is a Level 1, but there is a sizable enough population in the Coney Island area that you will probably see enough for good training. That said, it's not in the best area, but it could be a lot worse, no doubt. Just don't think you're dead smack in the middle of NYC. Outer-outerborough with a realistic 45-60+ minute train ride to midtown Manhattan (quicker w the express). Guess the upside is that rents tend to be (relatively) cheaper in this area of BK compared to the more trendy (hipster infested) areas.

Thanks so much for your response, Dharma. Does anyone know if these programs will be open this cycle?
