Hey, I just took next step full length 6 and my score dropped quite a bit from NS FL 1-5. Did anyone experience this? I felt NS6 was a lot harder than the first 5. Does anyone know if NS 7-10 is even harder?

Taking it on Monday. I'll let you know! Scores so far have been:

[5/21] NS1: 503 (126/124/125/128); 60% correct
[5/27] NS2: 507 (127/128/126/126); 66% correct
[6/1] AAMC unscored: 506-7 (estimated 126/126-7/126/128); 70% correct (64%/73%/63%/81%)
[6/8] NS3: 501 (wtf CARS?) (125/123/126/127); 55% correct
[6/14] NS4: 505 (127/125/125/128); 61% correct
[6/17] NS5: 504 (126/125/126/127); 63% correct

I just finished ns 6 and it beat me down hard. My scores have been between 506-508 and this knocked me down a full 6 points. what a depressing way to spend 7 1/2 hours. Hopefully it was just a hard one. They all seem to focus on particular subjects; maybe this one had subjects you are weak with. I know it hit all my weak points. Waves and galvanic cells. Not to mention how dense the bio section was.

I'm still new at this whole forum thing so if this is the wrong way to reply to a person who didn't start the thread... sorry...
anyways I just wanted to say that ns 3 killed me on CARS too. normally- always- 70% I got a 44% sad. I think it was just a really difficult section

Do you guys think NS 5 is worth upgrading my bundle for? I won't have time to take NS 6. Not sure if I should just bite the bullet and pay $60 or take a Kaplan:shrug:

NS6 C/P was ridiculously specific, calculation heavy, and tricky in my opinion. It also offered little interpretation of data driven questions and the questions that were based off of experimental data asked to make poor conclusions. While the knowledge in this section is more/less important, I can't imagine seeing as many heavy time intensive questions on the real exam. I ended 95 minutes later with a huge headache and a 125. :blackeye:

Yeah, I took NS 1-5 last year and each exam you had it's own biases and difficulty. I remember Fl 2 was way tougher than Fl 1. How to the score curves compare on each exam? I remember when I was taking Kaplan exams the full lengths after 5 were a lot less consistent in their scoring. I think it may have to do with fewer data points (people taking the tests) combined with tougher, more obscure topics.

I would take 7, see how it goes. I would doubt the exam is really 6 points "harder" than any other but there are some topics most struggle with on the mcat and this one was YOUR particular worst case-scenario. Happened to me in CARS a lot.

if you are talking about the AAMC skill 4 questions "interpretation of data" then you should know they only comprise 10% of the exam. So you are looking at maybe 5-7 of them in a given section. I know my test last summer had very few, which seemed to fit right into the AAMC official guide statements. The tougher ones for me were Qs that required figure analysis but the AAMC called "Skill 2" because it was more about interpreting the science behind the graph, not the data or statistics.

I would check out the Khan academy passages. The passages mostly suck but they are free and offer lots of figures and charts to review.

yup. 508 on #5. got slammed down to 502 on #6.

Oh my dear lord, yep - spot on. This one did seem more difficult/ I felt I was short on time for all the sections minus P/S. Agree it was incredibly specific with info required...

Knocked me down to a 500 from 506...and there goes my steady climb heheh (It's ok you'll just take the next one and improve - practice, what it's for anyhow!)

I am taking the MCAT the 19th. Would you say NS6 is still worth doing?

Hi all. Complete noob to MCAT here. What is FL 6? I could only find 3 full-length tests on AAMC, if that's what it means. Thanks
