for science majors,

will high performance in non-science classes be helpful for med school or will it raise red-flags?
assuming ur sGPA and uGPA are similar/fine

i was looking at UPenn's LPS a few months ago for science classes but was interested in some of their other anthro classes and stuff. what is the consesus on that?

Getting A's in non-science non-fluff helps you be (and look) well-rounded, and will help on the MCAT. I suggest avoiding freshman or survey classes, because that looks like GPA padding.

Getting an A is pretty much never a red flag. If your science GPA is crap, you can't fix it with anthropology et al, but if your science GPA is good, then do whatever you like.

Now, if you happen to do poorly on your first science exam, drop that anthropology class like a hot potato. You have to get A's in the prereqs.

Best of luck to you.
