I wanted to get some info on Northwestern/U of Chicago/Cook County programs

How do they stack up against each other?

All decent programs.

That being said, I did get a chance to read your other posts and from what I understand, you're an MS1 who is interested in EM. (please correct me if i'm wrong.) I'd focus your efforts on what was written on your last thread-focus on step 1, study hard during MS1 and MS2 year. If you really want to do EM, shadow a little less frequently (and if anything, just 'meet' more attendings) and focus your efforts on an EM research projecct. The others can correct me, but the "how do these programs stack up against each other" doesn't really apply as a question until you are around december of MS3, at the earliest in preparation for aways. (And that's if you're reallllly gung-ho) Anytime earlier is time wasted from more higher-yield means of spending your time.

Also, there are lots of threads about northwestern vs cook vs uchicago. People who like 3 yr programs will likely favor cook and uchicago, academics will favor northwestern, county lovers will favor cook, maybe uchicago. and it goes on and on.

and these threads are all reasonably up to date, so this is enough fodder if you really want to read up on them, if you haven't already.

I think all of these programs are 'well-known' enough that you don't need to worry about 'rank' or 'top program.' First you need to work hard now to make yourself competitive to these programs, and second, between these three, it's probably going to be based on fit.
