Can any current NYCOM students comment on the following materials we are "required" to purchase for school?

We were instructed that the following items are required:

• Stethoscope- Littmann Cardiology III Stethoscopes
• Sphygmomanometer - blood pressure cuff DS45-MC Economy DuraShock Hand Aneroid with 4/cuffs
• Oto-ophthalmoscope-Diagnostic Set Standard 97200MCL Diagnostic Set with Nicad Handle and LED lights
• C-128 Tuning Fork and C-512 Tuning Fork
• Taylor Reflex Hammer

While I can justify the Littmann, I'm really not trying to spend $500.00 on the rest of the stuff. What really was needed during your time at NYCOM, or what can we get away with not having?

Why a reflex hammer? My DO primary physician just uses his stethoscope as the reflex hammer. One less thing to carry around/lose

Ever use a Queen Square hammer (round disk on a stick)? You can get a reflex out of a rock with those.
