If it makes you guys feel better, I never got any email...so maybe you really are on some sort of waitlist
same here, it is just rejection, not cool Drexel

IV Impressions so far:
Einstein-Philly: ... They do the second most transplants in the Philly ( and I think more than UPMC as well, so it may be 2nd most in state, second to Penn). IV with the chief, PD, CEO of the group and then another attending. No primary service-pure consults. Plenty of scopes to go around. The fellows live all over i.e. suburbs and the city.
I cancelled my Drexel interview so hopefully one of you will become unwaitlisted.. I don't think I can go to more than 11, 17 interview invites and cancelled 6
Same, about 10%. Don't look into.question: do you guys get replies to thank you emails? i have had about 10% replying and most of the PD do, but not always
Anyone know if Lenoxx Hill has given out all interview or done with their interview days??
ya, last IV date was 10/23think they are all done
everyone certified their rank list, yes?
Hi BrujerizmoHere are a couple in addition to the banner good samaritan one I posted earlier:
-University of Chicago-Northshore- very young program, only have 3 fellows all time, takes 1 fellow per year, growing, very supportive and amazing faculty, primarily clinically oriented, rotate at Evanston Hospital for 14 months, Univ of Chicago for 8 months and 3 other hospitals in northern chicago suburbs; VERY LARGE IBD population that supersedes most other programs; huge amount of endoscopies (1500 procedures in total), little to no call whatsoever, very relaxed atmosphere; seems like a very great program and will continue to get better; not a whole not of research; interviews 20-24 for 1 spot and primarily locoregional; fellows live in downtown chicago and commute 30 min via subway to main hospital
-Mayo Clinic Scottsdale- underrated program; fellows have amazing post fellowship opportunities and match at Mayo Rochester for advanced fellowships; superb faculty with as much research as you can get your hands on; rotate in china and mayo rochester for electives, rotate at banner good sam for more procedures; lots of clinical exposure; takes 2 fellows now and will take 3 this or next year with built in transplant fellowship in 3 yrs; seems like lots of tough call, lots of consultations for complicated patients; I really enjoyed meeting with the faculty; location leaves a little to be desired but if you love the heat, its perfect; I think its a fantastic place to train
Others please pitch in
They take IMGs. I'm not exactly sure what kind of IMGs they were besides they were non U.S. imgsHi Brujerizmo
Do you know if Mayo Scottsdale take in IMGs? By IMGs, I mean people who require visa and are on J1. There is no fellow listing in the website. Thank you for your opinion reg programs

Wasn't too sure where to post this. Now I don't mean to worry anyone or anything since I know it is a tough process but I have seen a 66% number for US MDs matching but doesn't this actually mean that 66% of the spots are US MDs and not the match rate? I am a med student and I love GI but going into IM (my thinking may not be reasonable) without a guarantee of my actual career is concerning. However, I read at this link that 297/350 US MDs matched so the match rate would actually be just under 85%. That doesn't seem to bad unless I am missing something. It might be for only having that specialty ranked, but that definitely is not as bad as I thought.
I just wanted to post here to see if my line of thinking was correct. If I want GI in the end I would going into IM anyway with the mindset that being an internist or other specialist is fine but I figured I would check to see if I was missing something. Thanks!
