Does anyone know if they use Step 3 scores as a filter or Just Step 1 and 2?

Congrats to everyone thus far and wishing the best to all you! I am an AMG and have iv's from Dartmouth, USF, UMiami, UVermont if wanted to add to your list.

Quick question: Do you all think it is okay to email program directors with updated research information?
 
I am an IMG , applied in 121 programs. No interview with 3 rejections. I am getting really anxious !!!!

I wonder when Hopkins, Stanford, the Brigham and BIDMC will send interviews. any news from them?

I dont know. it might be a good idea that each of us ask the coordinator in their departments how applicaiton are filtered.

Welcome to our forum. Thanks for updating and sharing your IVs. its a good way to know what to expect and when.

As far as emails for research updates; unless its really a "significant" update, i wouldnt. significant as in red journal publication or the like.

Shoot. NW sent their invites?? Its a sad day here. The selection criteria for interviews really astonishes me. its so random. i wish if any senior members would shed some light. who reviews all these applicaitons or screen them? coordinator or program director?

There is no standard selection criteria that applies to all institutes. Most places have their secretaries do a preliminary check to exlcude a bunch of applications based on Med school, USMLE scores and residency. Then, PD reviews the applications to send out invites starting from stellar applicants to above average and if spots left, average

I wonder if there is a value of contacting the programs that did not send interviews and politely ask for the reason why our application did not satisfy their criteria. Its 30 dollars per application ya know lol

I totally hear you, but I think its a fine line between politely asking and screwing up your chances further. Many program coordinators are over worked during this time and unimportant emails might piss them off. That being said, I am as anxious as you are and its a lot of money like you said

University of chicago-northshore is based in evanston... they are an affiliate of UC and rotate mainly in upper chicago suburbs and based in evanston hospital
