In Dukes waitlist/rejection letter, they said they received more applications than they have in the past. Maybe it is a competitive year or just more in house applicants. IM residency name plays a large role in all of this. I'm glad I'm not applying for GI :)
Every program, in every specialty, in every location says that every damn year. Believe it if it makes you feel better but it's just boilerplate.

 we have been waiting for your classic posts! Now that you are here, I think we can bombard you with WAMC, can you rank these programs, and when will I hear from OHSU questions :)

I have been staying the hell away from these threads for the most part. You guys are making Pre-Allo look like the Oxford Debate Society.

When did you receive the Colorado invite? Thanks!

I just have one of my papers submitted to Journal of Urology as first author, is their any benefit of informing programs about that? especially the programs that i am interested in? I have zero IV so far, may be this changes my fortune :)

Another NW rejection, UW rejection from last week. Iowa invite today.

Good morning sdn. Thus far 54 interviews reported to sdn. Let's all hope for some midweek action ;)

I like the UPMC interview broker. Interesting that nothing comes through the ERAS inbox.

Comparing last year as a reference u guys think still a chance for imgs to get interviews? Or should people start looking into other options?

I have the same question. It will be good if the seniors could advise us.

Dear kind colleagues: please remember that you will need ONE interview to get your fellowship. Based on previous mentioned statistics, more than half the programs have not sent out invitations yet, besides some applicants will cancel their invited which will increase others chance.

So please -- keep positive & it's not October yet!

^this.

A lot of superstar img applicants who applied to >100 programs will end up with way to many interviews. Just sit tight and hopefully it all works out. We are still waiting on ~85 programs to send their first round of interviews!

Hey DVN is the second round based solely on cancellations ?

No. Outside of the top programs, most places send several rounds of interviews. I've discussed this a million times but basically, program wants to interview 50 people, they offer 50 invites, 25 say yes, they invite another 30, 15 say yes, they invite another 20, 10 say yes...now they've got their 50. Note that none of these are people that have cancelled yet. Then, once the IVs start rolling in, people do cancel, so that same program is now down to 35 interviewees...invite another 30, lather rinse repeat.

I think that it is still early. I have looked at last year and most of the action is around August 16-17... so I am hoping we will start seeing a lot more....
