I sent emails to two programs on my list of realistic programs that i would likely rank very high, but i haven't heard anything. I feel like that guy who is trying to get a girl out of his league..."so you're telling me there's a chance?"

Lol... "But I really like you"

I enquirer through email :)
Thanks, probably it is a rejection for rest of us as well who have not received any IV.

Do programs send rejections in waves as well? There are several programs who have sent rejections but i have not received any yet. I am not keeping my hopes high anyway from those programs.
I have 2 IV's so far. Seriously hope to get a couple more to have a decent chance in match. I think IMG's can expect to receive sporadic IV's from cancellation till the end of October.

Any senior from previous years has any thought on this?

Any IV that comes now will be through cancellation now seems like..... I haven't had a single all week

has anyone called or emailed UCI or UC Davis about their status? If so for UCI, did you contact the fellowship director who's email is listed on ERAS or the fellowship coordinator at UCI (listed on their contact page of their website)?

I have three :(... I have not applied widely. I applied to 100 programs because of certain geographic non preferences. What about you?
You applied to 100 programs and you consider that NOT applying broadly and with geographic non preference?!!
I guess I was too picky applying to 60s programs then! lol

Overall, I'd say this season has been more competitive than I expected. I ended up applying more broadly then I initially planned and I must say I'm glad I did. I start interviewing this week. Sent out emails to 3 I really wanted to hear from, 1 immediate rejection, 2 with no response so far.

I am just going to bite the bullet and finalize travel plans and if I hear from a place I would have normally considered ranking in top 3 I guess I'll look on the bright side instead of the wasted plane tickets...Interviewing at 2 in-state, 7 out of state.

Is it just another slow day or this is an indication of season ending? I am worried.

i just want to hear from one place, ohio state. feels like the season has ended.

Not even a rejection today. Odd. I think this is the part of he season where we see a few lucky interviews. Time to finalize travel.

UCLA-Harbor/City of Hope (research track) invite (actually got it last Friday)

we were expecting it to slow down in September but not to go completely dead like this. Odd!

I think it was way more competitive this year. I think the season is dying soon. However, I am sure someone else will post and say this is how it is every year but I feel this year was different.

not sure if this means anything....I called UTAH and they said they have only sent out first round of interviews and are still reviewing apps. Depending on the response from first round they may call a second round

Scroipps said they will send a big batch of interviews soon today or tomo

Silence ! Looking at last year forums timeline, it was much more active last year at this time

You guys have a tiny slice of the overall applicant pool which is poorly reflected on SDN. It always seems more competitive each year, but it always probably isn't.

I begin interviewing next week - I'm curious if the moderators/fellows on the other side have any input on what programs are really assessing at the interview..? It seems by this point we are all driven, have all published and remained academically active, all want to go into the same field presumably for the same reasons..

I think they just want to make sure the applicant is not a weirdo/arrogant douchebag/complete idiot/flat out liar ...etc

For you New York natives...

Do you think I can make a 630 PM flight at LGA if I leave Monter Cancer Center/NSLIJ at 330? Thanks!

UAMS just emailed and said they are still reviewing and haven't sent invites out yet

U at Buffalo (repeat) with one date, conflicts with another IV so couldn't do it.
