Just noticed your edit - who confirmed the date for you? Was it Aubrey or Christina? I sent an email to the former but got a automated out of the office message...Or did you call?

Did they confirm you for 10/2? Someone else in my program was confirmed for 10/2 but I requested 10/9 and haven't heard anything. And bizarrely, I didn't get that message you guys are referring to!

JCWU if you are stressed then imagine the rest of us mortals.
 
it's going to be different for everyone but it would be helpful to know how many calls ppl have gotten so far with different visa categories. If 2-3 ppl in each category can tell everyone would have an idea whts the overall situation with regards to interview no. I'm a visa requiring IMG at a university affiliated community hosp. So far 7 calls . None from the community hospitals. Do they start giving out calls later? Or I just didn't get any
 
There's a lot of posts here and I tried glancing through and didn't see an answer to what will be a stupid question:

I haven't heard from some places that I'd expected to hear/receive invites from and it has me worried. Is this going to be similar to IM where I may not receive a rejection at all and secondly is it worth reaching out to places (email or call) to express interest/see if they may offer me an interview? I hadn't seen this thread until today and was waiting to hear from places since I know invites can go out through the end of the month.
 
Not an official answer...but yes, there are places that do and those that don't send out rejections at all...for instance, just above, apparently UPenn sent out invitations to externals - and I didn't receive an invite, which given many aspects of my application (particularly some with affinity towards that program), kinda shocked me. In terms of your second question, it has been addressed similarly before, but in brief, sure, reaching out should be fine, though to be perfectly honest, probably won't be something to make or break the interview invitation cutoff - bottom line, if you're a strong candidate, the invitations (in general) should be reflective of this on its own merit...again defer to anyone else with a more official opinion...

To JCWU, seems like last year Penn sent invites, wait lists and rejections. Seems surprising that you and some of the others on the forum wouldn't have gotten an invite or at least a wait list. Rejections also don't seem to have rolled out... so maybe they are not done.
 
That's sweet of you to say...and correct...but even if I were to get an invite now, I assume that it means I wasn't in the first invite group ... and thus I probably wouldn't risk putting that program high on my match rank list anyway... But thanks for being nice though :p

As we're all preparing for interviews ... what is everyone going to take on the day of? Obviously extra copies of CV, personal statement, and potentially abstracts? Anything else? Good luck!!!!

No I am waiting too, however hope seems to be fading with each day.
 
Many programs don't send rejections (or send them at the end- like November).
Some programs send rejections to some people and keep others on a waiting list (and send rejections at the end).
Some programs are about to send invites in early September, but don't know how many.
I don't remember, but I think NY programs in particular don't bother too much sending anything.
Don't be surprised - you will meet a lot of arrogant and not caring people during the interview process.

They have both sent interviews. I got one from UT Houston but not from methodist but a few co-residents did. I am hoping to hear from them though.
